Contents

Plant Physiology:

Fundamentals of plant physiology; metabolic physiology, energy balance, photosynthesis, phytohormones, developmental physiology, stimulus physiology, floral biology; movement physiology; internal clock.

Plant physiology course:

Independent performance of experiments on the topics: Growth and development physiology; water balance; photosynthesis; plant constituents; proteins and enzymes; respiration and fermentation; DNA isolation; nitrogen metabolism; stimulus and locomotor physiology; reserve substances; ion balance.

Qualification Goals

Students learn the fundamentals of plant physiology while gaining an understanding of basic biological concepts and theories. They will gain an overview of the physiological subfields, metabolic mechanisms and their energetic evaluation, and the responses of plants to external and internal changes. Selected experiments will introduce experimental design, execution and evaluation. During experimentation, students will be introduced to the mathematical and graphical methods necessary for documentation and interpretation of results, in addition to experimental design. In addition to the technical correlations, they will learn how to document experimental results correctly using language and graphics by preparing detailed experimental protocols.

Prerequisites

Translation is missing. Here is the German original:

Mind. 45 LP aus den Kernmodulen; das Kernmodul „Anatomie und Physiologie der Pflanzen“ muss erfolgreich abgeschlossen sein.
