Contents

Fundamentals of animal physiology:

Energy metabolism; food intake and digestion; respiration; cardiovascular function; excretion; hormone physiology; neurophysiology; sensory physiology; muscle physiology; behavioral physiology, behavioral ecology.

Animal Physiology Course:

Independent performance of experiments on the topics: Respiration and energy metabolism, blood, heart and circulation, hormones, excretion, nerve, muscle, senses, learning, internal clock. Tested group protocols for each day of the course.

Qualification Goals

Students will learn the fundamentals of animal physiology with its basic biological concepts and theories. They will gain a basic theoretical understanding of the mechanisms and performance of animal life processes, as well as their adaptations to various ecological settings. In selected experiments, the students will carry out physiological and behavioral analyses, learn how to use the necessary technical equipment, and evaluate the experiments under supervision.

Prerequisites
