Qualification Goals

In the lecture, methods are introduced that enable participants to create computer-generated images of high visual quality. This includes topics such as modeling a dynamic virtual scene, freeform curves and surfaces, methods for global illumination, or methods for displaying volume data. Another goal of the lecture is to give the participants an understanding of the architecture of current graphics cards, so that the graphics card is understood as an enormously powerful stream processor with many parallel computational units, which can also be used for complex computations outside of computer graphics. To this end, parallel programming of the graphics card will be practiced using practical examples. In addition, the general ability to work scientifically and solve problems as well as the communication skills of the participants will be improved.
