Contents

Depending on the course.

Basic concepts and established results in the field of non-commutative algebra (structure theory, special classes of non-commutative algebras) and their connections to other mathematical structures such as group theory and Lie theory are presented.

Qualification Goals

The students shall

  • get an insight into a current field of research,
  • learn the basic structures and techniques of non-commutative algebra,
  • are confronted with unfamiliar abstract mathematical terms, which they gradually learn to understand and apply better through examples and sentences,
  • practice mathematical working methods (development of mathematical intuition and its formal justification, training of abstraction and formulating proofs),
  • Improve their oral communication skills in the tutorials by practicing free speech in front of an audience and during discussion.

Prerequisites

Translation is missing. Here is the German original:

Keine. Empfohlen werden die Kompetenzen, die in den Basismodulen und im Aufbaumodul Algebra vermittelt werden.

Applicability
