Qualification Goals

Competencies:

Students understand mathematics didactics as the science of mathematics learning and have sound knowledge of subject-specific teaching and learning processes. They have

  • mathematics didactics diagnostic competencies for analyzing, observing and interpreting mathematical learning processes, for constructing tasks and interpreting student errors,
  • mathematics teaching-related competencies for the targeted construction of learning opportunities, for subject-specific intervention options and for procedures for dealing with heterogeneity in mathematics teaching.

Qualification goals:

Students will have in-depth knowledge of mathematics didactics up to current research results and will be able to make use of these for teaching activities, e.g. for the analysis of teaching topics or for the targeted construction of learning opportunities.
