The module Technology and Innovation Management is an introductory and fundamental course for the subject Technology and Innovation Management (TIM). The management of innovations requires different or at least modified instruments compared to traditional methods of business administration.

The following topics are covered:

  • Object and necessity of innovation management
  • Resistance, promoters, interface management
  • Strategic technology management
  • Innovation process and project management
  • Technology and innovation controlling
  • Success factors of innovations.

Qualification Goals

The aim is to convey the special tasks and contents of the management of innovations and technologies. The module also aims to clarify the relevance of technology and innovation management for strategic corporate management: Technology and innovation management is based on the key resource knowledge. In particular, students should develop an understanding of the opportunities and risks of innovation projects and be sensitized to the topic of innovation-related knowledge management.
