Qualification Goals

Competences:

The students

  • understand the basic principles of calculus in one and several variables and can use them for the treatment of geometric, scientific or technical problems,
  • have mastered the basic concepts and techniques of calculus and are confident in actively dealing with the subjects of the course; they master the main theorems,
  • use mathematical working methods on concrete questions, they can distinguish between mathematical intuition and formal precision and use and relate both components to each other,
  • can judge concepts of calculus, assess their mathematical range and their use in high school teaching,
  • know exemplary historical developments in analysis.

Qualification goals:

The students know and understand the basic concepts and methods of calculus in several variables, they can apply them and establish references to their use in high school.
