Qualification Goals

The module teaches the fundamentals of evaluating geographic data using geographic information systems as well as their visualization in the form of topographic and thematic maps or related illustrations. Students acquire knowledge in the application of simple spatial analysis procedures and the computer-aided creation of maps. The ability to communicate factual information using graphic means of expression is also taught. They will learn to apply appropriate methods depending on the data basis and problem and to assess the informative value of maps.
