Dealing with software and hardware from an IT administration perspective. One focus is the cycle (cf. ITIL) from procurement to testing, inventory, deployment/installation, services, maintenance and care to disposal, another focus is the hardware components of a PC and the third focus is the software utilities used for administration with a focus on shell scripting languages (bash/tcsh/PowerShell).


Qualification Goals

Students have an insight into problems, tasks and solutions in the professional field of IT administration.


Prerequisites

None. The competences taught in the following module are recommended: Introduction to Computer Science. Basic knowledge in the field of imperative programming are recommended.
