Contents

  • Advanced mathematics topics, which approach the state of the art in research
  • Topics are distributed to individual students or subject areas are distributed to small groups of students
  • Familiarisation with the topic on the basis of scientific literature in self-study, supported by feedback from the lecturer
  • One lecture per participant on the respective topic, largely free and comprehensible for the seminar participants
  • Discussion about the lectures

Qualification Goals

Students

  • can work out a special mathematical topic independently,
  • have deepened their ability to work independently in a scientific manner,
  • can prepare and break down complicated mathematical contexts and supplement them with explanatory content,
  • have further qualified themselves in dealing with scientific literature and its search,
  • can give a structured mathematical lecture tailored to the competencies of the audience,
  • have deepened the use of presentation media,
  • have deepened the ability to discuss mathematical content in a structured way in groups,
  • have further qualified themselves in the use of mathematical typesetting programs during seminar preparation.
