Fundamentals of Biological Diversity:
Forms of organization and evolutionary trends in the plant, fungal, and animal kingdoms. Populations, species communities, ecosystems. Threats to and protection of biological diversity
Field Exercises in Biodiversity:
Students will gain knowledge of basic flora and fauna through hands-on field exercises. In particular, the characteristics of important taxa and their habitats will be taught by addressing them in the field.
Qualification Goals
Within this core module, students will develop an understanding of the processes of phylogenesis, evolution, and ecology of organisms. They will also gain an insight into the flora and fauna of Central Europe.
