Types and meaning of institutions; overview of the most important approaches in institutional economics, such as regulatory economics, new institutional economics, property rights theory, principal-agent theory, public choice, constitutional economics, or law and economics.
Qualification Goals
The aim of this module is to systematically introduce students to the fundamentals of institutional economics. They should acquire the competence to apply the various institutional economic approaches to simple problems and to evaluate alternative institutional solutions to problems.
