Contents
In scope and degree of abstraction, advanced content of pure mathematics that is linked to an advanced module and is chosen in such a way that it provides exemplary access to current mathematical research problems and to research literature.
Topics are drawn from one of the following areas (according to the module announcement):
- Algebra/Number Theory
- Geometry/Topology
- calculus
Qualification Goals
Competencies:
Students will be familiar with examples of advanced mathematical theorizing with their special mechanisms and their respective capabilities for solving internal and external mathematical problems. They are able to work with mathematical objects of higher conceptual elaboration and of a higher degree of abstraction and formalization (compared to the advanced level) and use this ability to gain insight into research methods and current research results in mathematics and to independently access scientific texts.
Qualification goals:
Students will be familiar with advanced mathematical theory building up to current research results and methods in a topic area of Pure Mathematics.
Prerequisites
