The Managing Innovation and Entrepreneurship module is an introductory and fundamental course for the subject Innovation and Start-up Management (Entrepreneurship). The management of innovations and start-ups requires different or at least modified instruments compared to traditional methods of business administration.

The following topics are covered:

  • Subject and necessity of innovation management
  • Importance of start-ups
  • Challenges and barriers in entrepreneurship
  • Methods of business plan development
  • Innovation process and project management
  • Success factors of innovations and innovative start-ups.

Qualification Goals

The aim is to teach the special tasks and content of managing innovations as well as the challenges of innovation-oriented business start-ups. In this module, students should develop a market-oriented perspective on the opportunities and risks of innovation projects in new and existing companies. At the same time, however, methodological competence is to be imparted that makes it clear that innovations and start-ups can be planned and calculated.
