Contents

Exercise 1 teaches the theoretical requirements for the identification of fungi. Both the necessary terminology and the specific structures of the respective fungal taxa are presented.

Exercise 2 and excursion allow for a more in-depth learning of the necessary skills in the field and the teaching of the theoretical background for the identification of higher fungi. The key functions of fungi in ecosystems as well as the specificity and associations of fungi within different vegetation units at the natural growing site will be studied intensively and analyzed with specific methods. Methods of documenting terrain data are taught.

Qualification Goals

The module provides in-depth knowledge of the species diversity of fungi. Microscopic methods of analysis are applied and studied in depth. It will be shown how this group of organisms is closely linked to biotic and abiotic site factors. Conclusions for species and biotope protection are derived from this.
