On the basis of selected characteristic business processes, design proposals for digitisation will be discussed. In the field of manufacturing industry, a distinction is made between discrete manufacturing and continuous process industry as well as service industry. Furthermore, a distinction is made between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and large enterprises.
The methods used can lead to the support of these processes as well as to their transformation. A modelling of business processes is used as a starting point for the development, evaluation and adaptation of business application systems. The ability to map typical business processes within an ERP system and to execute them within this system enables students to understand the flow of business processes in the system, the influence of master data on process execution, and the relationships between master data and transaction data.
Furthermore the use of 3D-Printing or Augmented Reality for a change of business processes can be discussed. The software-based analysis of business data will also be addressed.
