Contents
Relativistic quantum mechanics (Klein-Gorden equation, Dirac equation). Many-particle problems, indistinguishable particles, symmetries, Pauli principle, second quantization, quantization of the light field, light-matter interaction, Hartree and Hartree-Fock theory.
Qualification Goals
Upon completion of the module, students will be able to name advanced concepts and methods from the field of quantum mechanics and explain working methods of the field. They will be able to describe the issues mathematically. Students are able to classify advanced theoretical approaches and model building. They possess the ability to evaluate given problems from quantum mechanics and to recognize ways to solve them and to successfully follow the solution path in simple cases by applying the methods they have learned in the module.
Prerequisites
None.
Applicability
Module imported from B.Sc. Physik.
When studying M.Sc. Mathematics, this module must be completed in the study area Minor subject Physics.
