Die teilnehmenden Studierenden adressieren im Seminar eine ausgewählte Fragestellung auf dem Gebiet der Finanzentscheidungen privater Haushalte und beantworten sie mit Hilfe des von der deutschen Bundesbank administrierten Befragungsdatensatzes „Panel on Household Finances (PHF)“ im Rahmen von eigenständig durchgeführten empirischen Analysen, die abschließend in einer Hausarbeit dokumentiert werden.

Studierende sind nach Abschluss des Moduls in der Lage,

  • ihre in der Veranstaltung erworbenen Kompetenzen im Aufbau und der Strukturierung relevanter Informationen auf eine konkrete Fragestellung innerhalb des Themenkreises der Finanzentscheidungen privater Haushalte (Household Finance) anzuwenden,
  • eine wissenschaftliche Arbeit mit Bezug zu den Finanzentscheidungen privater Haushalte anzufertigen, deren Herzstück eine eigenständige empirische Analyse der PHF-Daten ist und
  • ihre im Seminar erarbeiteten Erkenntnisse zu präsentieren und diese – auch im Diskurs mit den Mitstudierenden – kritisch zu reflektieren.
