This module provides advanced macroeconomic and financial analysis in an open economy. Aspects of macroeconomic theory, policy and finance are discussed. Empirical applications and case studies illustrate the relationship between theory and the real world.


Qualification Goals

Upon completion of the module, students will be able to,

  • analyze macroeconomic and financial problems on the basis of a comprehensive understanding of the theoretical foundations,
  • recognize the possibilities and limitations of modern economic and financial theory
  • evaluate the challenges faced by macroeconomic decision-makers and financial managers, and
  • make informed comments on current macroeconomic and financial issues
