In the seminar, the participating students address a selected question in the field of financial decisions of private households and answer it with the help of the survey data set ''Panel on Household Finances (PHF)'' administered by the German Bundesbank within the framework of independently conducted empirical analyses, which are finally documented in a term paper.


Qualification Goals

After completing the module, students will be able to

  • apply the skills they have acquired in the course in the development and structuring of relevant information to a specific question within the subject area of household finance,
  • prepare an academic paper related to the financial decisions of private households, the core of which is an independent empirical analysis of PHF data and
  • present their findings from the seminar and critically reflect on them - also in discourse with fellow students.
