Contents

Cell biology with emphasis on plants:

Advanced knowledge of cell biology will be taught, with emphasis on photosynthetic eukaryotes (algae and plants) and their special features in comparison to other organisms, e.g. plastids, vacuoles, cell wall, phytohormones, gene transfer.

Plant Cell Biology (KU):

Cell biology experiments demonstrating the peculiarities of plant cells, e.g. protoplasting, DNA extraction, dyes and staining of compartments, interaction with microorganisms, regenerative capacity, are performed.

Plant Cell Biology (SE):

Current topics in plant cell biology will be prepared and presented based on published research.

Qualification Goals

Elementary knowledge and methods of plant cell biology will be learned.
