Contents

Orientation and tutorial (VL):

Presentation of the subject areas and working groups at the Biology Department. In particular, an overview of the main research areas and the courses offered by the departments is given.

Orientation and Tutorial (SE):

Discussion of current biological issues through student presentations.


Qualification Goals

Small groups of students (12 to 15) are supervised by individual faculty members of the Biology Department. In the small groups, students learn to prepare and present papers on scientific topics as part of a seminar. If necessary, questions from the students are answered or made the basis for discussion. In addition, students are given an overview of the disciplines represented in the Department of Biology during the lecture. This is intended to give students an insight into the broad spectrum of the subject of biology and to facilitate module selection.
