Contents

Urban geography deals with the spatial study of urban structures, functions, processes and problems at different scales. Topics covered include the history of the city, international urban systems and competitiveness, urban development in different cultural-spatial and political systems, theories and models of urban development; the changing function of inner cities and consequences of (socio)spatial fragmentation.


Qualification Goals

Students are given an overview of the state of research in the various subdisciplines of urban geography and become familiar with basic relationships, specific methods and important technical terms.
