Qualification Goals

Students are able to

  • understand the structure and operation of computer networks,
  • analyze and understand the behavior of networks (including the Internet) in broad terms, especially with respect to problems and functionality of network software
  • to develop own network modules after additional familiarization with the respective network environments.
  • to apply scientific working methods when independently identifying, formulating and solving problems,
  • speak freely about scientific content, both in front of an audience and in a discussion.

Prerequisites

None. The competences taught in the following modules are recommended: Object-oriented Programming, either Algorithms and Data Structures or Practical Informatics II: Data Structures and Algorithms for Pre-Service-Teachers, System Software and Computer Communication.
