The module is designed to provide an understanding of the interrelationships and processes in the field of innovations and their spatial components and effects. Different perspectives are taken in the individual courses so that, when combined, a comprehensive understanding is achieved. The individual events deal, for example, with innovative planning strategies and their effects on urban development, the spatial organization of knowledge creation, innovations in the context of globalization and the innovative capacity of regions.
Qualification Goals
Knowledge: Factual knowledge of how innovations and innovative processes function and operate in space and the role of policy.
Skills and competencies: students acquire the ability to understand and analyze processes and contexts in a theory-based manner. In addition, they are able to design goal-oriented approaches/measures, to present them and to face discussion.
