B.Sc. Business Mathematics — Specialization Modules
Modules totaling 51 LP are to be completed in this area of study. One of the modules Numerics (Basic Numerical Methods) and Financial Mathematics I must be selected. In addition, at least three modules in economics must be taken, all of which must be chosen from either business administration or economics. In order for a major to be shown on the transcript, all modules chosen in the major must be assigned to the appropriate major.
Modules marked with an "A" count toward the numerical/optimization emphasis, and modules marked with a "B" count toward the stochastics emphasis. If a specialization in economics is desired, mathematical modules with a "C" are to be taken; they deal with applications of economic mathematics. Unmarked mathematical modules are not assigned to a major.
If an economics concentration is to be shown on the transcript, all modules in business or economics must be chosen from the same concentration. The letter after the "C" indicates the corresponding assignment: "C:A" for the Accounting and Finance emphasis, "C:M" for the Market-Oriented Management emphasis, "C:I" for the Information and Innovation Management emphasis, and "C:V" for the Economics emphasis. In each of the four concentrations in economics, some modules teach basic principles which are prerequisites for participation in more advanced modules; information on this is provided on the WWW page of the Bachelor's program in Business Mathematics or in the module handbook.
