Contents

Forms of organization and evolutionary trends in the plant, fungal, and animal kingdoms. Populations, species communities, ecosystems. Threats to and protection of biological diversity. The students should acquire basic knowledge regarding the native flora and fauna through practical exercises in the field. In particular, the characteristics of important taxa and their habitats will be taught by addressing them in the field.

In this module, students will develop an understanding of the processes of phylogenesis, evolution, and ecology of organisms. They will also gain an insight into the flora and fauna of Central Europe.

The module provides basic biological knowledge in organismal biology.
