In this module, basic ways of thinking and working in university mathematics are addressed and practiced by means of examples. In particular, this involves conducting proofs, making conjectures, and working with examples and counterexamples.
Qualification Goals
Students know and understand the role of various mathematical structural elements (propositions, definitions, proofs, examples) and are able to read and understand propositions, definitions, and proofs presented in lectures and texts and use them in their specific roles for further learning.
They understand basic ways of working in college mathematics such as conducting proofs, making conjectures, and finding examples and counterexamples and are able to apply these ways of working in simple situations.

When studying B.Sc. Mathematics, this module must be completed in the study area Basic Modules in Mathematics.
