- Mathematics topics requiring only the basic modules
- Topics are distributed to individual students or subject areas are distributed to small groups of students
- Familiarisation with the topic on the basis of scientific literature in self-study supported by feedback from the lecturer
- One lecture per participant on the respective topic, largely free and comprehensible for the seminar participants
- Discussion about the lectures
Qualification Goals
Students
- Are able to work out an easily accessible mathematical topic independently,
- know the initial principles of independent scientific work,
- have learned to prepare and break down mathematical relationships and to supplement them with explanatory content,
- have learned how to deal with scientific literature and how to search for it,
- can give a structured lecture on a lighter mathematical topic,
- can handle presentation media,
- have improved their oral communication skills by practicing free speech in front of a larger audience and in discussion,
- have learned how to use mathematical typesetting programs with the seminar paper.
