Contents
- Mathematics topics requiring only the basic modules
- Topics are distributed to individual students or subject areas are distributed to small groups of students
- Familiarisation with the topic on the basis of scientific literature in self-study supported by feedback from the lecturer
- One lecture per participant on the respective topic, largely free and comprehensible for the seminar participants
- Discussion about the lectures
Qualification Goals
Students
- can work out an easily accessible mathematical topic independently,
- know the basic principles of independent scientific work,
- have practiced preparing and breaking down mathematical contexts and supplementing them with explanatory content,
- can handle scientific literature and are familiar with its search,
- can give a structured lecture on a lighter mathematical topic,
- have practiced the use of presentation media,
- have improved their oral communication skills by practicing free speech in front of a larger audience and in discussion,
- are familiar with the use of mathematical typesetting programs through seminar preparation.
Prerequisites
None. The competences taught in the following modules are recommended: either Foundations of Mathematics and Linear Algebra I and Linear Algebra II or Basic Linear Algebra, either Analysis I and Analysis II or Basic Real Analysis.
