Contents

In this module, basic ways of thinking and working in college mathematics are addressed and practiced with examples. In particular, the focus is on problem-solving strategies and on reading and writing mathematical texts.

Qualification Goals

Building on the module ''Working with University Mathematics I'', students have deepened their skills in university mathematical working methods: They can process definitions, theorems, and proofs presented in lectures and texts so that they can use them confidently in their own mathematical work. They can confidently distinguish college mathematics ways of working from school mathematics ways of working and confidently use college mathematics ways of working, especially in relation to the requirements set in the basic modules on calculus.

Furthermore, they have strategies for working with problem-solving tasks and can use them confidently (e.g. in exercise problems). They are able to record solutions they have worked out in written form in accordance with the standards of the subject.

Prerequisites
