The topics build on knowledge from intermediate modules and/or an advanced module. The respective main topic and the selection of possible lecture topics are chosen in advance by the lecturer and they are listed in the module announcement.

Qualification Goals

Competences:

The students

  • are able to work on a mathematical topic on the basis of a given topic and recommended literature.
  • can work out a scientific lecture and keep it comprehensible for the seminar participants.
  • lead a scientific discussion on the given topic.
  • prepare a written composition of the presentation.

Qualification goals:

Students can develop an advanced mathematical topic themselves, present it in a lecture and engage in a scientific discussion.

Prerequisites

The following modules are required: Linear Algebra incl. Foundations of Mathematics, Analysis I, Analysis II. Depending on the topic, the corresponding intermediate module may be required according to the module announcement.

Applicability

The module can be attended at FB12 in study program(s)

  • LAaG Mathematics

When studying LAaG Mathematics, this module must be completed in the study area Specialization Modules.
