Qualification Goals
Students will
- know the basics of statistics, in particular statistical ratios, distributions, distribution densities, hypotheses and hypothesis tests,
- can recognize cross connections to computer science,
- are able to apply mathematical and especially statistical ways of thinking and working to concrete problems, also to technically motivated problems,
- have a mathematical and statistical intuition and are able to translate this into precise concepts and formal reasoning,
- have a trained ability to abstract,
- are able to participate in the statistics practical course,
- are able to discuss statistical content in a structured manner in a group.
Prerequisites
None. The competences taught in the following modules are recommended: Basic Linear Algebra, Basic Real Analysis.
