Analysis of government activity; government revenues and expenditures; fundamentals of taxation; selected political economy fundamentals.


Qualification Goals

Upon completion of the module, students will be able to,

(1) recognize the existence of market failures in certain constellations and analyze the mode of action of economic policy instruments in these constellations,

(2) analyze the impact of taxes in simple constellations on a theoretically sound basis, and

(3) analyze and critically discuss justifications for redistribution and individual aspects of political economy.
