In this module, students will deal with the basic concepts and tools for creating software for data analysis as well as practical use. They will be presented during the lecture and deepened in the associated exercise using practical problems. This includes in particular:

  • Project management,
  • Process models (e.g. Kanban),
  • requirements management,
  • modeling,
  • scripting,
  • version management,
  • Build and dependency management,
  • Quality assurance and delivery.

Qualification Goals

Students will be able to,

  • analyze and model analytical problems from the humanities and social sciences from an information technology perspective.
  • name various software development tools for data analysis and know their underlying concepts,
  • are able to apply them specifically to concrete problems. This includes, in particular, the tasks involved in the development of software modules.

None. The competences taught in the following module are recommended: Introduction to Computer Science.
