M.Sc. Mathematics — Minor subject Physics
In the M.Sc. Mathematics program, a total of 18 LP must be completed in the minor subject Physics. The combinations available for choice depend firstly on whether the minor is taken in Theoretical Physics or in Experimental Physics and secondly on whether the Bachelor's degree has already been completed with the minor in Physics:
1) Study of the minor in Theoretical Physics.
a) Bachelor's degree or Master's degree without a minor in physics in the previous Bachelor's degree.
The minor consists of the compulsory module "Analytical Mechanics" (9 LP) and one of the two elective modules "Classical Field Theory" (9 LP) or "Quantum Mechanics 1" (9 LP).
b) Master's program with minor subject physics in the previous bachelor's program
The minor consists of the two compulsory modules "Quantum Mechanics 2" (6 LP) and "Statistical Physics 1" (6 LP) and one additional module (6 LP) from the modules "Biological and Statistical Physics" (A, B or C) or the modules "Advanced Theoretical Physics" (A, B or C).
2) Study of the minor in experimental physics.
a) Bachelor's degree or Master's degree without a minor in physics in the previous Bachelor's degree.
The minor subject consists of the two compulsory modules "Mechanics" and "Electricity and Heat" from the course of study for a teaching degree in physics.
b) Master studies with minor subject physics in the previous bachelor studies
The minor consists of the compulsory module "Optics and Quantum Phenomena" and one of the two compulsory elective modules "Atomic and Molecular Physics" or "Solid State Physics".
