Contents

The Managing Innovation and Entrepreneurship module provides an introduction to and deals with the fundamentals of the subject of innovation and start-up management (entrepreneurship). The following topics are covered:

  • Subject matter and necessity of innovation management
  • Importance of start-ups
  • Challenges and barriers in entrepreneurship
  • Methods of business plan development
  • Innovation process and project management
  • Success factors of innovations and innovative start-ups.

Qualification Goals

Upon completion of the module, students will be able to,

(1) describe and classify the special tasks and contents of the management of innovations as well as the challenges of innovation-oriented business start-ups,

(2) develop a market-oriented perspective on the opportunities and risks of innovation projects in new and existing companies, and

(3) methodically demonstrate and question the ability to plan and calculate innovations and start-ups.
